| Jesus is the fire that burns within us at XOM. We’re not just about having fun in the great outdoors. Our number one goal is to help you achieve a closer relationship with the One who made you. We have regular worship times and discussions on our backpacking trips; and we are no strangers to prayer. Jesus is the reason that we have had no accidents or injuries in all that we do. We never embark on a journey without inviting His presence and protection. If Jesus isn’t for you, that’s OK. We won’t try to pressure you into believing what we believe. We respect the freedom that God gave each person to believe as they choose. Everyone is accepted at XOM. If it is your desire, you do not have to participate in our worship services. However, we do ask that you not disrupt those who do choose to participate. We can be friends, no matter what our respective backgrounds. While we desire that everyone could come to know Jesus as their personal Savior, and experience the joy that we do in this faith, we acknowledge that forceful love is not love at all. We do have a few rules to prevent us from being distracted from Christ. We don’t allow any type of electronic device such as portable music players or game systems, etc (c'mon... surely you can do without them for a day or two). Drugs and alcohol are strictly prohibited. While we respect the freedom of everyone, we cannot endorse total anarchy and irresponsibility. “For God is not the author of confusion” - 1 Corinthians 14:33. We practice and teach a drug-free way of life. We also ask that every participant follow the rules for each particular activity for the safety and enjoyment of everyone. There’s a new adventure just around the corner, and a new friendship. So come and join us, you’ll be glad you did. |
